Personal Statement:

In 1982, Dr. Don Crowder received his PhD in Clinical Psychology with emphasis on Medical Psychology and Neuropsychology from University of Health Sciences, The Chicago Medical School.  He practiced in Wisconsin for 38 years and retired from clinical practice in 2014.

Dr. Crowder’s clinical practice included serving as regional director for a large health care system in Wisconsin as well as private group practice.  Dr. Crowder was a member of the active medical staff of three general hospitals, served as Chairman of the Department of Medicine of one of the hospitals, and served on the Management Committee of one of the medical groups.

In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Crowder served on the Board of Governors of the Wisconsin Society of Clinical and Consulting Psychologists, the Wisconsin Psychology Examining Board, and the Board of Directors of the Association of State and Provincial Psychology Boards (ASPPB).  

Dr. Crowder left the cold of Wisconsin and moved to Southport, NC in 2016.  In September 2021, Dr. Crowder left retirement and accepted a “part-time” position with EmergeOrtho Wilmington as a Clinical Psychologist.  The practice with EmergeOrtho involves evaluations for spinal cord stimulator trials, pain management, sports psychology, and brief intervention for psychological conditions that might be complicating medical treatment.
