Dr. Grubb is a native of North Carolina. His education includes graduate work in psychology from East Carolina University, UNC-Greensboro, and Old Dominion University. He received his PhD from ODU in 1987. Dr. Grubb is one of the founding partners of Trilogy Services, Inc., established in 1998. His background as a psychologist has been quite varied over his 20-plus years of practice. Dr. Grubb's education and experience span across three distinct areas of applied psychology: clinical psychology, industrial/organizational psychology, and human factors psychology. In the clinical area, Dr. Grubb's approach is influenced strongly by behaviorally-based and solution-focused models of service delivery. He works with all age groups and a wide range of clinical issues (e.g., child behavior management, marital problems, depression, etc.). In addition to these more common areas of psychotherapy, Dr. Grubb specializes in the treatment of older adults (geropsychology) and individuals with developmental disabilities. Outside the office, he has worked in a number of group homes, assisted living facilities, and nursing facilities. As an industrial/organizational psychologist (specializing in human factors), Dr. Grubb has worked with a number of large corporations and government/military organizations in such areas as: minimizing work-related stress, employee performance and motivation, design of work performance aids, improved workplace safety, improved highway safety, product usability assessment/testing, and functional improvement of building design. In all areas of applied psychology, Dr. Grubb adheres to a "scientist-practitioner" model, attempting to stay abreast of the latest research and to apply this to specific problems or situations.
